The hounds - Brew's story
After Duke died, our home was empty and sad. I knew that the best thing to do was find a new hound in need of a home - something I know Duke would have approved.
Christmas came and we spent it in Watford with my best friend, where we had planned to meet a hound called Boss Supreme on a G4U walk in Hampshire. However, a week before the walk, the owners of Boss decided they loved him too much and wanted to keep him. Being a believer that things happen for a reason, it just wasn't meant to be. Debbie (the G4U Guru) did some thinking and suggested we meet another new dog that had just come up for re-homing, called Cauldron Brew. Straight after our telephone call, I went on the Greyhound Data website (where you can find out everything about all raced Greyhounds) to research his history and guess what I found? Not only was Brew related to Duke, he also shared my birthday! I couldn't pass up this coincidence and rang Debbie to see if she would reserve him with the condition that he liked us on the walk - and surprise, surprise, he did!
Brew was a lovely Greyhound that was very laid back. He was very cheeky but extremely well behaved and spent most of his time sleeping and grooming himself - he is your typical 45mph couch potato!
Brew passed away at home on Granny Margaret's birthday - 7th September 2018.
